at a young 8 months Caleb weighs nearly 22 lbs and is close to 30 inches...
and his Chicco car seat height limit is 30 inches.
Thus, we are in the market for a new car seat.
I would LOVE any recommendations!
I am looking for a convertible car seat that is...
1. SAFE
2. Easy to use
Thanks for your help!

Oh! What a big boy!! Ethan was short and fat at that age:)
This is the car seat we have:

But we got it when I had a small car so it would fit. I would say anything by Britax.
Most car seats only rear face up until 35lbs so if you want to extend rear face you'll need to go with something with a higher weight limit.
Here's Britax web site:

If you keep looking you can sometimes find them on sale. I think it's worth the extra money for the extra safty:)
Good luck and let us know what you end up with!
I know how you feel...Will outgrew his infant carrier at 6 or 7 months. He moved up to a Britax convertible that he still uses now. We love Britax. Easy to use, very safe, and highly recommended by other mommies. Hope you find something that works great for Caleb!
we love our graco nautilus' BUT they don't rear face...that's the one down side...I have heard great things about Britax we just could NOT afford one...let alone 2 of them. SO yeah...the Nautilus was highly reccommended, in our price range and convertible...just not rear facing...that's probably not a lot of help. :(
Thank you so much! We are probably going to get a new one this weekend...his legs stick way far out and get squished in the back seat and he can't stretch out all the way. He's growing so fast!
He better not out grow the sling yet...I'm not ready for that emotionally yet! :)
Thanks so much for your help, very thankful!
If he does grow out of the sling then get an Ergo. I just got one and love it! They will fit up to 45lbs I think.
